Payment terms
Version: 1 · Last updated: 02/10/2026 · Applies to: anyone who pays for a job through a DMSW payment link without an account (for example, a landlord paying for work approved by their property manager)
By paying, you agree to these terms.
What you're paying for. You're paying for the work described in the quote, done by the builder or contractor named on it. Your property manager or agent approved the quote for you.
Payment is held. DMSW holds your payment in its Stripe balance and releases it to the builder only when the job is signed off, or 7 days after it's marked complete if nobody signs off or disputes it.
Tax invoice. The tax invoice is issued in the builder's name, by DMSW as their agent, and addressed to the "bill to" name your property manager gave us.
Refunds. You'll be refunded if the builder can't do the job, if the builder and your property manager agree a refund, if a court or the Disputes Tribunal orders it, or if you ask for a refund while the builder's account is locked. If the job is cancelled before work starts, the refund is less Stripe's fee and any receipted materials.
Questions about the work go to your property manager. Questions about the payment go to support@dmsw.co.nz.
The Platform terms and Privacy policy also apply. New Zealand law governs these terms.
